Great service and delicious food. We will be back! Hubby had gyros and I had pork tortellini. All excellent. Sat. Afternoon no wait and food came fast. There will be several to go boxes. I will be ordering the lemon chicken soup again too.

Hot and quick...but not great! It does not live up to expectations.

We came through town and saw the restaurant. Good food. Great service, clean open seating. We were served quick. We ordered pizza got the second one half price. If we are in town again we will Definitely stop here again. We also ordered the fried mushrooms which were crisp yummy and tasted amazing.

Went to this restaurant on a Saturday evening. It wasn't crowded, but was busy. The service was excellent, the food was great. I will eat here again next time I visit Bowling Green KY.

I have to give this one only 3 stars, because the quality of the food is so variable. Some stuff is absolutely top shelf. I can't say enough about the deserts, the strombolis, the spaghetti baked with meat sauce and cheese. Husband raves about the gyro meat and Alfredo pasta. However...well, some stuff is straight up Sysco crap. There's just no nice way to say it. The Italian sausage is inedible, the meatballs are bland, and the iceburg salads are not exactly stellar. We eat at the Gondolier a lot, and find things go best when we stick to what we know is good. Service is as variable as the food. When our favorite (I think his name is Shane) is there, you'll be treated like you're at a 5 star restaurant. He's almost clairvoyant about your needs. If he's off, I'm afraid you're on your own if you need something. Top tip: get the caramel cake to go & pop that bad boy in the microwave for about ten seconds. The icing gets all gooey and its freaking awesome! You'll think you've died and gone to heaven for real! Trust a fat girl on this and do it! You can thank me later.

Stopping in from a small work trip I was not sure of this place but boy was I surprised. Not only is a quiet and quaint place the wait staff is friendly and welcoming. We ordered fried mushrooms as an appetizer and both ordered pizza and boy I was amazed. The mushrooms came out hot and not greasy at all and the pizza was good. I was happy! Their desserts look amazing and I wish I had more room to try one.

This is a good, not great restaurant. If I could give a separate rating for dessert it would be 4, but considering the food items, it has to be a 3. There are lots of choices, but I think when you have this much on the menu you fail to be great at any of them.. which is the case here. Don't get me wrong, nothing was bad.. just nothing I can say you must try. There were 6 in our party and we had various dishes and everyone enjoyed them. The waitress was attentive and informative. The atmosphere was bright and loud.. not the place for quiet, romantic dinner. All that said ... let's talk dessert. They were great and huge! We ordered 4 and had leftovers. The best was the baklava cheesecake. I will go back for dessert and coffee every chance I get.

We love to eat here, the food is amazing and is always fresh, if you have room for dessert they offer amazing cakes, cheesecakes and Canolli

The desserts are really good, but the food is a whole new story. It is as if the breadsticks are nasty frozen ones brushed with oil and that is it. The dipping sauce for the bread sticks taste like a can of tomato sauce opened. There is no flavor to anything. It is so bland and just not worth wasting money on if you can cook yourself.

The pizza was really good. We got a medium Gondolier and mozzarella sticks and ended up taking some of the pizza home. The pizza is more home made instead of the chain store types. The pizza has light sauce which is nice. Atmosphere was pleasant. They had several TVs with the football games on. The desserts were amazing. Gigantic cakes. Two or more can share one piece. I would eat here again.

Ingrid spelled it out best... This is a good, not great restaurant. Think TGIFridays with an Italian accent. Upon arrival we were served breadsticks which were good, but kinda slow on the refill and the sauce served on the side had no flavor at all... none, nada! Next came the entrees which were good and fairly filling, but lacking robust flavor and slow to arrive to our table. I long have had a theory that if the establishment puts flat screen TVs all over the place, its a sign of distraction on how the food and service are, and sadly that may very well be the case at Gondolier. Seriously, Sinatra playing thru the speakers while watching a college basketball game while eating Stromboli?? The dessert case is amazing and worth a long look before you are seated and probably why I gave the review 3 stars instead of two. Staff was attentive and friendly... no surprise, this is Kentucky, which is full of friendly people. We will probably return when I am in the area again for a second chance (and a slice of cheesecake) but thats a definite maybe at this point.

Decent service, but the menu and dining atmosphere needs to come in t o the 21st century. Just too JV for me

We visited there for dinner on 10-10-14. The restaurant was about 80% full. Our service was fairly slow from the start. The menu was pretty overwhelming. Once the free breadsticks got to us, I was disappointed by them as well. They were bland and tasteless. The sauce reminded me of Chef Boyardee, but more bland. My wife got spaghetti with meat sauce and thought the same thing. I got an Italian sausage Stromboli which wasn't horrible, but it didn't have a lot of sausage in it. It was mainly huge globs of cheese and LARGE chucks of onion and peppers. We saved room for desert and those were definitely the highlight of the meal. The cheesecake is the one reason I might go back, and the only reason this place got two stars on my review.

I eat out a lot while traveling... I will return here. Above average pizza, great cheesecake and very good service. Did I mention $1.50 happy hour mugs of beer.

Although the management tried to make it right and in the end the food was good. The salad came out not as ordered and the special advertised on the blackboard was not available.

Priced right with a menu that has something for everyone. Free breadsticks are great! Ask for the garlic butter for dipping. Yum! Service is great. Pizza's good. Atmosphere is quaint. Check the dessert case upon arrival and save room. Delish!

First trip to Gondolier. Was seated fast and had great service from Lindsey! She brought out piping hot breadsticks and sauce quickly with our drinks. Breadsticks were pretty good, sauce very very mediocre and bland. I ordered lasagna, came out pretty quick, nice size plate. First taste was just like so many other restaurants in Bowling Green, bland and tasteless..

I came here with my husband and 9 month old son in a hurry to get to a wedding. The service was so speedy and the pizza was really good! Next time I'm back in BG I hope to come here again and take my time, it's really tasty!

Got here Sunday a little after noon. Service was fine. Salad was very underwhelming and ordinary. Better at Olive Garden. Went with Tour Of Italy. Spaghetti and Chicken Parmesan were pretty good. Overall a very average experience. Nothing to write home about.

Love the Margherita pizza and calamari. Desserts look amazing. Free breadsticks. That gives you a one point bump to start. Great service from the staff. Food always comes up promptly. This is our second visit.

Absolutely horrible. We went to this place expecting a nicer experience, but we were completely wrong. First of all, the environment of the place is the worst you can imagine. The restaurant was overcrowded and impossible to get around in. The servers were running into people. You can't hear yourself speak over the sound of children screaming. There's a TV on every wall, playing some terrible network reality show. It's like they know how terrible their restaurant is and they are trying to distract you from it. This is NOT the place to go if you are trying to have a nice night out with friends or family. I ordered fried pickles as an appetizer (yeah, I know, not very "Italian", but I really don't consider this an Italian place.) I was expecting them to be sliced into chips but when they arrived, they were quartered, which made them very difficult to eat. The taste was ok. I also received a caesar salad with my entree. I've had better caesar salads off the dollar menu at Wendy's. My boyfriend got a house salad with vinaigrette dressing. I'm pretty sure the dressing that came out with his salad was just straight balsamic vinegar. So bad. For my entree, I ordered the veal marsala. Up until the point when my plate came out, I had been tolerating everything, but this was the straw that broke the camel's back. The dish had no taste whatsoever. It was completely bland. The fettuccine that came with it was dry and stuck together. I tried dousing it in salt and red pepper flakes, but nothing could save this disgusting, lifeless dish. I quickly pushed it aside, hoping the manager (whom had yet to be seen) would be making the rounds and I would be able to have it taken off my ticket. We never saw a manager the entire time. Our server was completely clueless. She saw my practically untouched plate pushed away and asked if I wanted a box for it. Of course not! Really terrible customer service. As a new restaurant, there should have been in a manager in the dinning room, making rounds. I had to pay $11 for a horrible, flavorless dish that I didn't even eat. Needless to say, I will NOT be going back to this awful place. But I'm sure they will do great with Bowling Green's super classy, intelligent restaurant-goers.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
